Berith Salom (literally 'the covenant of Salomon') is a family association founded in 1861 during the celebration of 50 years of marriage of our ancestors, Salomon Jacob Spanjaard and Sara David van Gelder, in Borne, The Netherlands.
Over a century later, descendants still meet at our annual family day. In 1861 all descendants (9 children and 50 grandchildren) came from the Netherlands (mainly Twente and the surrounding area). Today we are spread all over the world.
We plan to keep in touch with as many offspring as possible. This is done via our news mail the Salom flash, the family days, cyberspace and more and more activities, such as the family seider (a meal during the Jewish holiday of Passover) and family conversations.
